Survival of the Fittest

Peter drew me a picture this morning.

Me - what is it?

Peter - a duck, a duck and a goose getting eaten by a three headed dragon.

Me - why did you draw that?

Peter - because I like ducks and gooses and dragons.

Me - if you like the ducks and the geese why did you make the dragon eating them?

Peter - that's what dragons do mom, I can't help it. It's called the food chain. P

Taking the Lord's Name in Vain

The other day, I was folding laundry in my room and Aaron and Campbell were playing in her room. From over the monitor I heard Aaron exclaim, "Jesus, Campbell!"

In shock over him speaking like that I ran into the room to reprimand Aaron's language.

Me - Aaron, you are absolutely not to take our Lord's name in vain. Where did you learn to say that?

Aaron - from the book?

At that point I realized he was reading "Jesus and the 12 Dudes who Did" to his sister... And that I should probably observe a situation before starting my rants.

Late night bath after a blow out at the Caps game. And I'm not talking about the score.

Sneaky

This morning Peter got down stairs for breakfast two minutes before me.

When I came down the first thing I saw was the step stool from the bathroom sitting next to the shelf we have in our entry way. A shelf which just happens to have a jar of candy sitting on top of it.

As I rounded the corner I found Peter hiding under the dining room table.

Me - Peter, are you eating chocolate?

Peter - how do you do that? Did the eyes in the back of your head come downstairs and see me?

This is one of those moments where I struggle with what to do. Teach him how to be a better sneak, or maintain his belief in my super powers? Tough call. For now I think I will keep my super hero status.
